How Individualized Learning Empowers Every Learner at iLEAD Flex

Every child is unique, wonderfully talented, and inherently valuable. That’s why iLEAD Flex is committed to individualized learning, an educational approach that tailors instruction to meet each learner’s distinct needs, abilities, and interests. Opening in the Fall of 2026, iLEAD Flex will use a wide array of learning opportunities to create a personalized academic experience, empowering learners to progress at their pace, explore passions, and receive personalized support. This learner-centered approach will inspire kids to engage and grow.

Personalized Roadmap: The Individualized Learning Plan (ILP)

A cornerstone of our approach is the Individualized Learning Plan (ILP). At the beginning of each school year, our students (learners), with their facilitators (teachers) and parents, will create an ILP. This plan will include academic goals (aligned with Common Core State Standards) and social-emotional goals. These goals will be woven into yearlong targets, which the learner and facilitator will continuously monitor, assess, and reflect upon. With clear expectations and opportunities to showcase their talents, learners will be motivated to grow and achieve their goals.

Empowering Learners: Learner-Led Conferences

Students at iLEAD Flex will learn to evaluate their progress. At least twice per year, they will lead portfolio-based Learner-Led Conferences with their facilitators and parents. During these meetings, learners will present their accomplishments, discuss strengths, and identify areas for growth. Facilitators will coach them to confidently direct these discussions. These conferences will ensure accountability and empower learners to take ownership of their learning journey.
