Meet Ms. Tiffanee Reynolds: Leading iLEAD Flex Exploration with Heart and Vision

With nearly two decades of dedication to education, Tiffanee Reynolds brings a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, and leadership to her role as the Director of iLEAD Flex Exploration. A passionate advocate for STEAM education and project-based learning, Ms. Reynolds has a vision for empowering learners and building strong community connections.

Please tell us about your background and how you came to be at iLEAD Flex.

I have spent nearly 20 years as an educator and have taught many different grade levels. I am passionate about STEAM education and project-based learning. I have spent the last six years as a school leader, a position that I love because it empowers me to make a positive impact on learners and to build relationships with learners, families, and staff. I have a Master’s Degree in educational technology for Cal State University, Northridge and I am in the final year of a Doctoral program in Educational Leadership at California Lutheran University.

What do you LOVE about iLEAD Flex? What sets it apart from other schools?

I love that iLEAD Flex truly gives learners voice and choice in their educational journey. What sets us apart is our commitment to meeting learners where they are and creating an experience that honors their individual strengths, interests, and needs. Through an Individualized Learning Plan, each learner has a personalized pathway designed to help them grow and thrive.

I also love that families have choices in how learning happens. Learners can participate in independent study while still having opportunities to come together for on-campus workshops, hands-on learning, collaboration, and connection. This flexibility allows us to provide the personalization of independent learning while maintaining the relationships and sense of community that are so important to a learner’s experience.

Most of all, iLEAD Flex is about creating an environment where learners are known, supported, and empowered to take ownership of their learning. We are not asking every learner to fit into one model of school. We are creating a model that can flex to fit the learner.

In your opinion, what makes a great leader?

A great leader is someone who truly listens to those they lead and practices servant leadership.

What does a day in your school life look like (pick a day, any day…or a composite of a day)?

My day begins by greeting learners as they arrive and helping create a welcoming and positive start to their day. I spend time visiting classrooms, engaging with learners and facilitators, and making sure they have the support, resources, and tools they need to be successful. I also connect with and support our facilitators and learners in independent study, ensuring they feel connected to our school community and have what they need to thrive, whether they are learning on campus or independently. Throughout the day, I make phone calls, connect with families, and work alongside our team to ensure all of our learners feel safe, happy, supported, and valued.

I know it was a good day when I see learners deeply engaged and excited about their learning, facilitators feeling supported in the important work they do, and learners connecting with one another as a strong community of learners—regardless of where their learning takes place in our wonderfully flexible program.

Please name three to five fun/interesting facts about you. 

1. I have painted large murals at schools in the past.
2. I am left handed.
3. I have a dog named Bradley who is a Chipin (a Chihuahua Mini Pinscher).
4. I love plants! Especially succulents.
5. My favorite place to be is hiking in the mountains.
